China a stalwart of UN peacekeeping missions

China, which currently has 2,370 personnel engaged in United Nations peacekeeping missions, is being lauded as a stalwart of such international endeavours. The majority of this figure is soldiers, who are presently participating in nine separate UN missions. By the end of 2015, China’s UN peacekeeping deployments will rise to 3,100 troops.

The UN hosted a chiefs-of-defence conference at its New York headquarters for peacekeeper contributor nations on 26-27 March 2015.
