Canada prepares for combat support vehicle introduction

The Canadian Army begins its journey to modernise its armoured combat support capability replacing its Bison LAV II and M113 vehicles with the new ACSV based on the LAV 6.0
With deliveries of the first batches of 8x8 Armoured Combat Support Vehicles (ACSVs) to the Canadian Army underway, the service is planning its fielding and acceptance schedule.
A spokesperson for the Canadian Department for National Defense (DND) told Shephard that the fielding schedule to Canadian Armed Forces bases is ‘under development’ and, although there are risks to the project schedule due to COVID-19 and other factors, ACSV fielding ‘is scheduled to commence in late 2022 and continue through early 2025.’
Up to 360 ASCVs will be built and delivered to the Canadian Army in eight different variants under a contract
