More weapon system upgrades for Bushmaster
The Australian government has announced that additional army Bushmaster vehicles are to be upgraded with new weapon systems under an $11.2 million contract with Thales Australia.
The Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles will be fitted with a new Australian-designed stabilisation system that improves the vehicle’s firing accuracy.
The new Protected Weapon System (PWS) has already been fitted on 45 vehicles; this contract will see another 40 vehicles upgraded.
The PWS comprises an upgraded remote weapon station designed by Electro Optic Systems and a vehicle integration kit designed by Thales Australia.
