British Army to receive first Ajax vehicles by year end
The British Army’s new fleet of Ajax tracked vehicles is inching closer to service as the first production vehicles prepare to be handed over later this year.
Representatives from Ajax manufacturer General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) UK told Shephard that the first six vehicles – which will all be the ‘Ares’ reconnaissance support variant – will be handed over in the fourth quarter of this year.
It was announced earlier this year that Ares had completed Government Acceptance Testing in preparation for delivery, following successful ‘first of type’ testing carried out by GDLS-UK.
