Brazilian Army units receive 81mm mortar
The Industrial Division of the Rio de Janeiro War Arsenal (AGR) has delivered indigenously manufactured 81mm mortars to Brazilian Army units.
One mortar apiece was provided to the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras, the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion School and the 26th Paratrooper Infantry Battalion.
These units are now familiarising themselves with the operation of the new mortar, which is made entirely by AGR.
‘The technical delivery activity had as main objectives the presentation of the new armament produced by the AGR, as well as guiding the military about the correct procedures related to the maintenance, storage and transportation of the material,’ the Brazilian MoD announced on 6 July.
‘In addition, the operation of the main mortar assemblies was presented and demonstrated and all accessories and accompanying tools were checked.’
