Austria joins Sweden for BvS10 procurement
Austria is joining Sweden’s BAE Systems Hägglunds BvS10 armoured all-terrain vehicle (ATV) project.
Swedish Defence Minister Karin Enström said the government had approved on 23 January an Austrian government request to join the project.
Sweden placed an initial order for 48 BvS10 Mk IIB vehicles in January 2012 and in December 2013 exercised an option for a further 102 vehicles in four configurations - troop carrier, ambulance, C2 command vehicle, and cargo carrier. Austria will buy 20 vehicles in a similar configuration.
