AUSA 2018: Lynx prepares for qualification and US NGCV bid

German vehicle manufacturer Rheinmetall is preparing for the final stages of company qualifications for its new KF41 Lynx, which will be bid into the US Army’s Next Generation Combat Vehicle programme next year.

At this year’s AUSA, Rheinmetall announced a partnership with US prime Raytheon to put forward a solution for the NGCV programme based on the KF41 Lynx

The partnership differs somewhat from Rheinmetall’s usual strategy for industrial offsets that sees the company set up a local subsidiary, which it has done in recent years in Australia, Poland and the UK.
