AUSA 2017: 3M unveils new helmet

Ceradyne, a subsidiary of 3M, is launching its latest combat helmet at AUSA in Washington DC.

Known as the Combat II Ballistic Helmet L110, the helmet is being positioned for military combat operations as well as counterterrorism missions. 

According to the company it can help protect the user from bomb fragmentations, certain rifle projectiles, handgun bullets and blunt impacts.

Cheryl Ingstad, business manager for advanced ceramic platforms at 3M, said: ‘We are at the cutting edge with design, lightweight, comfort and high protection.’

She added: ‘The product comes from a division in 3M that uses all kinds of lightweight material products.
