AUSA 2016: New light binos see into the dark

Harris has launched a new lightweight night vision binocular – the F5032 – to meet a gap in the market.

A spokesperson from the company told Shephard that the trend in NV systems is away from green phosphor monocular systems towards white phosphor binoculars.

Harris has worked with Theon Sensors to develop the F5032, which is an image intensified dual tube binocular that can be head-mounted or used as a hand-held. It also includes an IR illuminator, which is not found that often in lightweight NV binos. It weighs under 500g.
