AUSA 2014: TAR-Ideal to introduce soldier IFF marker
A new personal marker device for the infantryman developed by TAR-Ideal will be displayed at AUSA Annual in Washington.
The Israeli company has developed the TL5 Pro system to improve the protection of soldiers from friendly fire. In the urban landscape when the whereabouts of individual troops may become unclear the ability to prove identification becomes vital.
The TL5 Pro is a personal marker device with an adjustable visibility range at 50m, 300m, 800, and 1,500m and emits an infra-red signal invisible to the naked eye as a constant light or as a flickering beacon.
