AUSA 2013: Textron unveils new direct fire Commando vehicle
A new variant of the Commando 4x4 armoured vehicle fitted with a 90mm gun has been unveiled at AUSA by Textron Marine & Land Systems (TM&LS).
The Direct Fire variant is fitted with the CMI Cockerill CSE 90LP weapon systems and is the latest addition to the vehicle fleet following the launch earlier in 2013 of the Mortar Indirect Fire variant of the Commando Select vehicle that has been exported to Afghanistan.
Textron stated that it noted an increasing international requirement for greater under-armour firepower that is fitted to a high mobility vehicle. The CMI 90mm gun offers a day/night
