AUSA 2011: BAE Systems continues pursuit of AMPV
BAE Systems is continuing to advocate its solution to the Armoured Multi Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) replacement for the M113 at AUSA.
On display at the show are three variants showing the versatility of the solution that the company is proposing.
According to Roy Perkins, Director HBCT Business Development, US Combat Systems, the US Army is poised to begin the programme with budget lines in the 2012 Presidential budget or the replacement of the 3,000 M113s in the Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT). However, with no resolution of the US budget issues in sight, the programme has yet to be launched.
