Algeria donates combat and transport vehicles to Mali
The Armed Forces of Mali (FAMa) received a donation of 53 vehicles from Algeria on 27 May, under a bilateral defence agreement that included logistics, combat, communications, ambulance and troop transport trucks which will support reconstituted battalions during combat operations.
This follows an initial donation of light and heavy armament materials, delivered in early 2020.
The latest equipment was handed over at President Modibo Keita International Airport in Bamako, in a ceremony attended by Mali’s Minister of Defence Ibrahima Dahirou Dembélé and Foreign Minister Tiébilé Dramé.
