ADAS: Philippine Army awards APC upgrade contract
The Philippine Army is to receive upgraded M113 APCs under a contract signed with Israeli manufacturer Elbit Systems.
The company announced the contract – its first with the Philippines – valued at $20 million on 22 June, and stated that it would provide 25mm unmanned turrets, 12.7mm remote-controlled weapon stations and fire control systems for 76mm turrets.
Elbit added that the APCs would be supplied over a one-year period, although local press reports state deliveries will be completed by January 2015.
