Russia finally commissions Admiral Gorshkov frigate
The long-delayed commissioning of the first ship of Project 22350 for the Russian Navy (RN) was reported on 28 July during a ceremony at Severnaya Verf shipyard in St Petersburg.
The Admiral Gorshkov frigate is indented to serve with the Russian Northern Fleet, where it will equip the 43rd Division of Missiles Ships based at Severmorsk.
Project 22350 is known as the most ambitious combat ship project in Russian since the Soviet Union era. It was built as a multi-role frigate equipped to counter both surface and underwater treats, provide air defence for ship group and deliver strikes against ground
