DSEI 2019: Royal Navy watchers a-quiver as Arrowhead 140 gets the go-ahead

The multi-episode marathon that has been the UK Royal Navy’s Type 31e light frigate saga has finally come to a conclusion with the announcement on 12 September that Babcock’s Arrowhead 140 has won the £1.25 billion ($1.54 billion) programme for the five-ship build.

Rumours had been flying around London’s DSEI exhibition for days, with industry tight-lipped both at the show and earlier events about the prospects of a decision finally being made.
