​Indo Defence 2018: Indonesian Navy missions bolstered by aluminium

As the waters surrounding the archipelagic nation of Indonesia become hotly contested, the navy’s fleet is being aided by the introduction of an aluminium RIB variant.

PT Kahajaya Marine is an Indonesian manufacturer of aluminium boats and its latest model, the 6.7m RIB, was delivered to the service last year.

The boat is a further development of a smaller RIB version that was used by the navy in recent times.

With its 4mm deep hull and rim respectively, it can fit ten persons including the driver, with the company stating to Shephard  that its heavy duty, aluminium enforcement provided protection
