Euronaval 2018: France marches on with naval ambitions

With France's military embarking on a series of modernisation programmes the naval service has its focus on providing for its future requirements under a variety of projects.

Under the 2019-2025 military planning law France is looking at capabilities including nuclear attack submarines and frigates as well as preparing for the future and the successor for the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle .

This year Charles de Gaulle completed a major refit, from March 2017 to October 2018, which included combat system modernisation as well as an all-Rafale adaptation.
