Danish navy hunts for RHIBs
Denmark's Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) has invited potential vendors to discuss plans to provide the Royal Danish Navy with new 8.5m rigid-hull inflatable boats.
Officials expect to procure 29 seaboats under the RHIB-850 SVN programme, in two variants, for embarked operations with the navy's frigates and other major platforms.
Fifteen of the new craft will be designed for 'national' operations in Arctic areas, deploying onboard Thetis- and Knud Rasmussen-class offshore patrol vessels primarily in waters around the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Iceland; while the remaining 14 boats are intended for 'international' missions with the Iver Huitfeldt-class
