US gets serious about European EW threat

The US is embarking on a number of projects that will see it rapidly rebuild and field advanced electronic warfare capabilities, many of which have been neglected over the past two decades.

The dominance of counter-insurgency operations has meant that Western militaries have focused on strategies to counter adversaries using basic EW systems, leaving the service's capacity to operate in contested and congested environments by the wayside.

However, Russia’s recent demonstrations of its capabilities against its European neighbours and within conflict scenarios in Ukraine and Syria has driven the US to rapidly develop new EW and signals intelligence (SIGINT) systems
