US Army expands network experiments

In the aftermath of Limited User Testing of the initial capabilities package for Brigade Combat Team Modernization, the US Army is expanding its tactical network experimentation.

The latest experiment, conducted by two platoons from the Army Evaluation Task Force beginning on 3 December 2009, focused on expanded network pairings between its developmental Common Controller device and Land Warrior equipment currently used by soldiers of the 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division in Afghanistan.

The Land Warrior equipment provided a surrogate for the Ground Soldier System, which is now in competitive development.
