US Army armoured brigade incorporates EW vehicle

The US Army has fielded a new electronic warfare tactical vehicle (EWTV) with an armoured combat brigade, boosting the unit's ability to jam enemy communications.

The vehicle will give the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) the tools to detect enemy radio emissions and then jam those signals ‘from an operationally relevant range’ at the brigade combat team level.

EW at lower echelons, particularly at the tactical level, is seen as increasingly important in future conflicts that could involve peer adversaries that also possess significant EW capabilities.
