Ukraine buys more Turkish radios

Ukraine has boosted its cooperation with Turkish industry for the supply of tactical communications equipment, with the country's land forces contracting electronic specialists Aselsan for additional radios.

A follow-on contract from a previous deal was placed in early October valued at $43.6 million, with deliveries expected to be complete in 2018. 

The equipment covered in the contract comprises an undisclosed quantity of PRS/VRS-9661 VHF/UHF software defined radios (SDR). 

These NATO-standard radios have been selected by the Ukrainian military for their long range communication capability, as well as secure encryption and jam-resistant features.
