Thales Nederland details radar advancements

Thales Nederland is currently undertaking testing activity of an initial three SMART-L MM 3D long-range multi-mission radars for air and space surveillance and ballistic missile detection and building another three for the Netherlands Armed Forces at its facilities at Hengelo.

In 2012, the country's armament procurement organisation, the DMO (Defensie Materieel Organisatie), purchased four SMART-L MM/N (Multi-Mission/Naval) radars to be integrated onto the Royal Netherlands Navy’s four De Zeven Provinciën-class air defence and command frigates.

Two fixed-tower mounted SMART-L MM/F (Multi-Mission/Fixed) radars for the Royal Netherlands Air Force were also purchased in 2014.
