South Korea’s digital Tactical Information Communication Network (TICN) for the brigade-and-below level is beginning to come together.
Commencing in 2010 under the auspices of the Defence Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), the comprehensive TICN was launched to replace the existing Spider communications system with about US$3.8 billion in investment for development and deployment.
Hanwha Thales (formerly Samsung Thales) is lead integrator for the TICN, while LIG Nex1 and Huneed Technologies each play important roles.
