Singapore Airshow 2018: Growler likely a no-show after Red Flag fire
The Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft looks to have been withdrawn from the static display line-up at the Singapore Airshow, scheduled to run from 6-12 February.
An incident on 28 January at Nellis AFB in the US saw one of the 12 operational Growlers in the RAAF’s inventory suffer from a catastrophic fire during take-off while attending Exercise Red Flag.
Images on social media showed significant fire damage on the underside of the aircraft and around its engine mounting.
