Cassidian unveiled the latest addition to its Spexer family of security radar systems at the Singapore Airshow today.
Designed to offer ’unprecedented levels of littoral surveillance and detection’, according to company officials, the Spexer 2000 coastal security radar is aimed at providing wide-area coverage of coastlines; maritime infrastructure; and protection against assymetric threats.
Spexer 2000 relies on Active Electronically Scanning Array (AESA) technology which combines a multi-tasking and multi-mode capability in order to increase detection and target assessment capability substantially, Cassidian officials explained. Potential customers will be able to use the system to protect maritime infrastructure such as oil fields
