Senses heightened for Apache

The US Army’s AH-64 Apache helicopters are to get the new sensors that will provide them with new capabilities.

It has finally been decided that instead of moving old sensors onto the upgraded models of the aircraft as they come into service, it is time to replace the sensors with new ones.

This means the aircraft will get better day and night sights for the pilots and improved targeting for the turret system.

A production contract for sensors was signed with Lockheed Martin to provide its Modernised Day Sensor Assembly (M-DSA) and High Reliability Turret systems.
