Airborne pay-as-you-go ISR on offer

Thales has announced it will integrate its Searchmaster 400 radar on a Bombardier Dash 8 Q300 turboprop as part of a cooperation agreement with Canadian company PAL Aerospace. 

The two companies are aiming to have the special mission aircraft - known as ‘Force Multiplier’ - complete for demonstrations by year end, with Thales officials explaining during a recent press event in Rouen that integration work had already begun in Canada. 

Both companies plan to use the ISR-configured aircraft for capability demonstration purposes, as well as a potential lease aircraft for both government and non-government customers. The latter option is expected
