Saab will supply additional Sea Giraffe Multi Mode Radars (MMRs) for the US Coast Guard under an order from the US Navy announced on 11 June.
The order exercises an option on an existing contract which was initially awarded in 2017. It includes multiple line item options for additional Sea Giraffe MMR systems to equip the US Coast Guard’s offshore patrol cutters.
The initial contract covers manufacturing, inspection, testing and delivery of the radars.
Deliveries will take place between 2020 and 2021.
