Russian radios get smart

Russia’s United Instrument-Manufacturing Corp (UIMC) reported that it has completed the development of a next generation man-portable radio for military and paramilitary use.

The MO1 is a fully-digital radio set for high-speed secure exchanged of data at up to 600km, without any blind spots where other radios cannot work reliably. 

The new smart radio, developed by the UIMC’s Sozvezdie Concern, is also touted as being capable of reliable operation in a complex jamming environment, in rugged terrain and when jammed by an enemy’s electronic warfare systems.
