Russia finalises Su-57 comms testing

Testing of a new advanced integrated communications system for Russia's Su-57 fifth-generation stealth fighter (previously known under its internal Sukhoi designation T-50) is slated for completion by the end of 2017. 

Known as the S-111-N, the system integrates several radios and modems for secure exchange of voice and data between aircraft and ground/air C2 nodes with a maximum range is 1,500km. 

The S-111 works together with the Aist-50 airborne integrated antenna-feeder system with flush antennas (built in the aircraft skin) operating in different frequency bands in order to preserve the aircraft’s low radar-cross section and reduce drag.
