Russia fields new EW aircraft & jammer

The first Il-22PP electronic warfare (EW) aircraft, featuring the new Porubshtic (Chopper) jammer complex has completed its joint state testing effort.

It has been received by the Russian Air and Space Force (RuASF). In November it is set to be followed by two more of the same type. This was revealed by Alexander Gorbunov, managing director of the EMZ Myasyschtev company in Zhukovsky near Moscow, the main contractor tasked to perform the upgrade. 

In addition to the capability to create various forms of electromagnetic jamming in a broad spectre, the Porubshtik system is also able to perform en-route electronic intelligence
