Rockwell Collins smallest Link 16 terminal to the international market

Rockwell Collins has launched the TacNet Tactical Radio (TTR) a new small-form factor Link 16 radio and already has a launch customer, according to Bernard Bouillaud, EuMEA marketing director, communications and navigations solutions.

Bouillaud told Shephard that there are ‘lots of platforms that would love to be part of the Link 16 network’, but the weight and size of other Link 16 terminals made it prohibitive. The TTR is 80 per cent lighter and 80 per cent smaller than a typical Link 16 Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) radio.
