ADEX 2019: Raytheon-led team offers ISTAR aircraft to ROKAF

The Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) has a requirement for up to four intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) aircraft, and one contender for that sees Raytheon teaming up with Korean Air.

South Korea issued an RfI for this about a year ago, and Raytheon responded to it. Roy Azevedo, president of Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems, told Shephard that ‘the acquisition process is beginning, the studies have begun’.

Indeed, in pursuit of this ISTAR contract, the two companies signed a collaboration agreement on 15 October, the opening day of Seoul ADEX 2019.
