Poland starts spy ship modernisation

The Polish Navy has begun modernisation of two electronic surveillance ships, which will include outfitting with new EW systems.

The first of two Nawigator-class electronic surveillance ships, ORP Hydrograf, will begin the modernisation process this month with the installation of new electronic support measures (ESM) equipment and a wideband reconnaissance system.

Later this year, when upgrade work on ORP Hydrograf concludes, it will leave the shipyard for testing and the second vessel of the class, ORP Nawigator will take its place in dock.
