Philippine C4ISTAR contract awarded

The US has contracted Harris Corporation to deliver a C4ISTAR system to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), with the FMS deal priced at $44.86 million.

Harris is responsible for ‘programme management, design, systems engineering, integration and test, installation, post-installation test, training and maintenance’, according to information released by the US DoD on 19 January.

The DoD stated, ‘A microwave communications backbone system along with a satellite communications capability will be procured and installed at and between the command centres, interconnecting them through long-haul communications. Mobile C2 systems will be supplied to extend the C2 capability into areas
