Pentagon warns of cyber weakness

Many US DoD networks, and the majority of the department's current acquisition programmes, are not capable of preventing nation-state adversaries from executing cyber attacks.

According to the Pentagon's head of test and evaluation, in the cyber-security section of the annual report by the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E), it paints a troubling picture of US DoD cyber resilience and preparedness. 

And while there are guarded grounds for optimism as recent changes in posture and policy begin to bear fruit, the DOT&E warns that without a significant recruitment drive, DoD systems may become impossible to defend.
