Israel sets up new department to boost development of AI and autonomy
Israel will continue to develop autonomy for its weapons and platforms as it brings together defence personnel, academia and industry.
Norwegian Special Mission has signed a contract with Textron Aviation to supply the UNIFIS 3000 automatic flight inspection system (AFIS) for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF), the company announced on 17 September.
The contract will see the company supply two AFIS units to be installed in the JASDF's Cessna Citation Latitude aircraft. The integration will be carried out by NSM sister company Sundt Air.
The UNIFIS 3000 is an ultra-light weight AFIS that provides flight calibration and/or flight validation of all existing CNS/ATM elements.
The contract includes an option for one additional unit.
