Northrop Grumman awarded task order for Army Battle Command System support team
The State of Kansas US Property and Finance Office has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation a task order to provide staff to support the Army National Guard Battle Command Training Center (BCTC) in Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
The Army Battle Command System Support Team (ABCS-ST) contract has a total potential value of nearly $13 million with one base year and four one-year options.
"The ever-increasing support requirement for digital battle command training has resulted in this award to our top-notch team of committed professionals," said Greg Schmidt, vice president and general manager Training Solutions Division of Northrop Grumman Technical Services. "We are proud to be a partner in the Army Battle Command System. We are committed to providing only the best training solution to the warfighters in order to be successful on today's ever changing battlefield."
Northrop Grumman will provide the team to develop and provide instruction, manage ABCS software and hardware for the BCTC, manage ABCS software configuration, networking, testing and licensing, provide field training support, and provide website support and development. Northrop Grumman has operated as the contractor for ABCS-ST since 1999.
"Northrop Grumman was selected because we have a record of providing superior support to the National Guard units with a team of dedicated and highly trained specialists," said Derek Stidham, program manager of ABCS-ST. "We have a history of successful leadership within the digital battle command community, and we look forward to strengthening that reputation in the future. The team works hard to provide for the training needs of the Guard."
Work by the ABCS-ST involves a mobile team of 15 people training National Guard units at the BCTC in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., as well as throughout the United States, Alaska and Hawaii. The program has received nearly 300 commendations, including commander's coins and certificates of appreciation from units it has supported.
