New Russian radar arrives

The artillery reconnaissance units of Russia’s Western Military Distract are reported to have received a new radar system.

This is the SNAR-10M Pantera mobile radar systems developed by NPO Strela of Tula, which were accepted by the units in late March. The system is an upgrade of the 1970s-vinatege SNR-10 Leopard.

Pantera uses the 1RL133-3 Kredo-1 radar, which is claimed to be capable of detecting ground, water surface and air targets at distances between 0.2 and 40 km. It is advertised as able to operate in all weathers, on smoky and dusty battlefields, rejecting ground clutter.
