NATO admits C2 failings

A NATO official has identified weak links in the alliance’s C2 chain as it prepares for its next venture into integration testing, Unified Vision 2014.

Lt Col Matt Martin, NATO HQ AC Izmir/A3-C2W, told an Association of Old Crows briefing that NATO as a political organisation is not allowed to plan for future conflicts due to its defensive stance, leading to procurement decisions being made on ‘best guesses’.  

‘There are still some big gaps in capability,’ he explained in a 26 April webinar that was publicly released.
