Milrem UGV performs MANET role

Communications specialist, Silvus Technologies, has integrated a mobile ad hoc network payload on board an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) for the first time as it seeks to proliferate the concept globally.

Silvus’s StreamCaster 4200 communications solution was mounted on board Estonian-based company Milrem’s THeMIS (Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System) UGV.

The aim of the integration is to extend the capabilities of the vehicle during intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), casualty evacuation and combat logistics missions as well as commercial requirements, sources confirmed.
