Malaysia continues network-centric funding

The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) needs to continue adequately funding its Network-Centric Operations (NCO) project if it is to reap future rewards.

This was the message that Chief of Armed Forces Zulkifeli Mohd Zin gave on 16 May during a demonstration of the NCO capability at Kuantan Air Force Base. The general said efforts to date would be wasted if funding is not released.

The MAF is nearing the end of the NCO project’s proof-of-concept phase 1A. Phase 1B, an implementation stage, will cover the period 2017 to 2023.

Phase 1A became operational in mid-December with implementation of X-band SATCOM
