Land Forces 2018: CEA unveils GBAD radar

CEA Technologies displayed the first-of-type ground-based CEATAC radar – which stands for CEA Tactical – at Land Forces 2018 in Adelaide.

The short/medium-range AESA radar was mounted on a Thales Hawkei, having been specifically designed to fit on this size of vehicle. It can also be mounted on a single-axle trailer.

The CEATAC is being proposed for Project Land 19 Phase 7B, which will give the Australian Army a ground-based air defence (GBAD) capacity.
