LAAD 2013: Maritime awareness system offered to Brazil

Elbit subsidiary Ares is displaying a maritime awareness system in South America for the first time as it pursues involvement in Brazil’s national coastal surveillance project.

At the LAAD 2013 exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, the company is running real-time demonstrations of the MarInt maritime analytics system it is offering for the Brazilian Navy’s SISGAAZ coastal protection project.

The satellite-based system fuses Automatic Identification System (AIS) tracks with other open-source information to highlight and pinpoint anomalous ship activities.
