ITEC 2014: GESI upgrade nears completion

An upgrade to CAE’s GESI command and staff training system is on track for completion next year.

The German-funded product improvement programme (PIP) will be ready in 2015 ‘if nothing changes’, a spokesperson from CAE told Shephard at the ITEC 2014 exhibition.

Providing an update on the PIP, the spokesperson said that the major re-design of the functional architecture has already been completed that will build the foundations for the next years.

‘We faced limitations with the old architecture when integrating new systems,’ he said. ‘The new design function means that we can click, drag, and drop new weapon capabilities
