IDEX 2017: Viper sees further

Lockheed Martin has secured a contract to provide the US Marine Corp with its Targeting Sight System to be fitted to the AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter.

Announced at IDEX 2017 the award is worth $150 million and is a follow-on contract to secure the delivery of Lots 13 and 14 of the systems with options for Lots 15 and 16, which would make the total about $284.6 million.

Speaking at the exhibition, Paul Lemmo, VP of Fire Control and SOF CLSS programmes at the company told Shephard that this would encompass about 180 systems.
