Harris wins new radio orders
Harris Corporation has been awarded contracts from customers in the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe to provide wideband tactical radios and support services in the first quarter of fiscal 2016, the company announced on 12 October.
The total value of the contracts is $66 million.
The company will provide the unnamed customers a wide range of Falcon multiband handheld, vehicular, manpack, and airborne radios. It will also deliver related equipment, maintenance and training services.
The equipment will bring users increased situational awareness, providing high-bandwidth voice, video and data communications capabilities.
Chris Young, president, Harris Communication Systems, said: ‘Harris radio systems enable our customers to deploy robust, secure tactical communication networks. This contract reflects the continued confidence in Harris technology to provide superior situational awareness on battlefields around the world.’
