Farnborough 2016: Elbit launches Spectro XR

Elbit Systems has launched the Spectro XR (Extra Range), electro-optic payload, designed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) missions.

The ultra-long range ISTAR system was designed on previous EO payloads that the company has developed, including the CoMPASS family, an AMPS (Advanced Multi-sensor Payload System), which has over 1,000 systems in operational use around the world.

The Spectro XR, which can be used in both the day/night, and in adverse weather conditions, provides a 20 inch payload performance in a 15 inch payload. It features a large multi-spectral imaging system that combines multiple cameras into one, resulting
